EasyJet To Launch Allocated Seating Trial
EasyJet to launch allocated seating trial by Cheap Flights Booker UK
EasyJet has announced that it will launch a trial of allocated seating in spring 2012.
Test flights on certain routes will see all passengers assigned to a specific seat, with strong demand expected for certain spots such as seats in the front row and those providing more leg room.
Passengers who want to book particular seats will be able to do so in advance, while those on the same booking who have not preselected their spot will be placed next to each other where possible.
EasyJet chief executive Carolyn McCall said the trial is another example of the airline trying to make travel as easy and affordable as possible for its passengers.
"We will roll it out further only if it works operationally, from a revenue perspective and increases passenger satisfaction. If it doesn"t, we won"t," she added.
The carrier"s current system lets passengers choose their seats when they board the aircraft, with priority given to customers who have paid for speedy boarding and people travelling with young children.
