Banff Park Sees Heavy Snow
Banff park sees heavy snow by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travel Alberta has reported that skiers and snowboarders are currently taking full advantage of more than half a metre of snow that has fallen on Banff national park over the past few days.
Snow has built up in skiing areas such as Mt Norquay, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village, covering almost 8,000 acres of terrain.
Banff national park also offers its visitors the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, with deer, elk, moose and grizzly bears all roaming free through its protected forests.
Tourists can take guided tours through the forest to track wildlife, or alternatively visit natural hot springs, spas and luxury resorts.
People visiting Lake Louise this month will have the chance to attend the Ice Magic festival, which will be held from 23 to 25 January.
This event is based around a 34-hour competition that sees professional teams carving sculptures from giant blocks of ice, with this year"s challenge to create something on a theme of "the rhythms of nature".
