Refurbished Lufthansa Lounge Opened In New York
Refurbished Lufthansa lounge opened in New York by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Lufthansa has opened an extended and modernised lounge for its premium passengers at New York John F Kennedy airport.
The facility covers nearly 1,500 square metres over three levels, providing twice as much space as the original lounge before refurbishment.
Located on the third level of the lounge is a dedicated area for first class passengers and members of the HON Circle loyalty scheme.
This section, which is the first lounge area of its kind outside the Lufthansa and Swiss Airlines hubs in Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich, is the "highlight" of the refurbishment at New York JFK, according to Lufthansa.
Amenities on offer to passengers include a pre-flight dinner area and showers in the first class zone and a bistro, bar and workstations for business class travellers.
Oliver Wagner, Lufthansa"s vice-president of global airport products, said: "The lounge at John F Kennedy airport is a walk-in advertisement for Lufthansa on the American continent and is an important component of our €150m investment programme to upgrade our lounges worldwide."
The German airline plans to open seven new lounges in the first three months of 2009 alone, including facilities in Paris and Mumbai.
