Travellers offered reasons to see Denmark by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Denmark will offer travellers a number of events, festivals and celebrations to enjoy this year, including what is described by VisitDenmark as "Scandinavia"s largest and most colourful carnival".
Aalborg will host its annual carnival for the 27th time in 2009, this year taking place between 16 and 23 May.
Some 100,000 people visit the event every year, either as participants in the parade or along the route of the procession, which this year will have a theme of "la dolce vita", or "the sweet life".
Another city that holidaymakers can visit is Odense, which will play host to a year of festivities turning it into a "fairytale destination", according to VisitDenmark.
Stand-out events will include the Folk Festival and the Iron Age Market, both of which will be held in May, the Hans Christian Andersen Parade in July and August and the Opera in the Meadow event on 16 August.
Travellers who choose to visit Aarhus during their trips to Denmark may be interested in events such as the AFIA Film Festival between 17 and 22 March or the Spot music festival, which will run from 21 to 23 May.
