US Airways plans year-round Rio de Janeiro flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

European travellers could soon benefit from extra connections to Brazil if an application for a new service by US Airways comes to fruition.
The airline announced that it had applied to the American Department of Transportation for a daily, year-round service from its hub in Charlotte, North Carolina to Rio de Janeiro.
Using a Boeing 767 aircraft, the proposed service would be able to carry 186 passengers in the main cabin.
Doug Parker, chairman and chief executive of US Airways, praised the government of Brazil for removing restrictions on the number of US carriers permitted to fly to the country.
He added: "As one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, Charlotte is primed for international expansion. With non-stop service to 22 destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America, expanding our reach to South America from Charlotte is the next logical step."
Charlotte Douglas airport is US Airways" largest hub in terms of flights, with some 571 services operating from the base every day.
