Ecuador, Galapagos Islands Becoming More Popular
Ecuador, Galapagos Islands "becoming more popular" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers are showing a growing interest in adventurous destinations such as the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta).
Steve Barnes, Abta"s corporate marketing manager, said that British people are "definitely" getting more adventurous in their holiday choices.
Speaking at the recent Destinations travel show in Birmingham, he said that the trend was highlighted by an increasing number of companies based in "off the beaten track" locations joining Abta recently.
Commenting on particular destinations that are proving popular, Mr Barnes said: "Places like Bhutan and Mongolia, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands are becoming more popular now.
"There was a couple here a while ago who always used to take holidays in Europe. They"ve just come back from a five-week holiday in Egypt and now they"re just planning another holiday in India, so they"re certainly far more adventurous than they would have been years ago."
The Destinations show featured exhibitors including tourist boards representing countries all over the world, such as Morocco, Gambia, India, Malta, Canada and the Dominican Republic.
