UK airports improve punctuality by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The UK"s ten busiest airports managed an overall increase in the punctuality of their scheduled flights between October and December 2008, new figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) reveal.
More than three quarters (77%) of scheduled flights at the UK"s major gateways operated within 15 minutes of their planned time in the quarter, representing an increase of 8% on the previous year.
The airport to post the best figures of all was Edinburgh, which achieved an on-time performance of 83%.
London Heathrow managed a year-on-year increase of 13% in its punctuality in the fourth quarter of 2008, while London City (16%), Gatwick (9%), Luton (5%) and Stansted (4%) also improved their on-time rates.
With regards to destinations, domestic flights to Cardiff showed the highest punctuality rate of 88%, while connections to Shannon in Ireland experienced the shortest average delay of seven minutes.
Other figures published by the CAA recently show that the number of people travelling to and from UK airports to visit friends and relatives increased to nearly 45m in 2007.
