Batman Swoops Into Barcelona
Batman swoops into Barcelona by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Barcelona will enjoy an unusual boost to its profile as a tourist destination next month with the publication of a Batman comic book set in the Spanish city.
Travellers will be able to witness the official release of the one-off volume at the International Comic Fair at Fira de Barcelona on 29 May.
The cover of the new comic shows Batman standing in front of one of Barcelona"s most recognisable tourist attractions, the Sagrada Familia cathedral, which itself is set against a dark and turbulent sky.
Jim Lee, an illustrator who has worked on X-Men, Punisher and previous Batman comics, is the man behind the new cover design.
The 48-page comic, which will also feature a foreword by Barcelona mayor Jordi Hereu, will be officially published simultaneously in Spain, Italy and the United States.
Batman the comic book series will this year celebrate its 70th anniversary, after the character first appeared in his own publication in the spring of 1940.
