Flybe To Launch New Flights From Gatwick
Flybe to launch new flights from Gatwick by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Flybe will launch new flights to Dusseldorf from London Gatwick this summer, making the airport the regional airline"s 14th base.
The new route will get underway on 22 June and represents a "major expansion" of Flybe"s operations, the airline said.
Flights to the city in north-west Germany will operate three times a day during the week, once on Saturdays and twice every Sunday.
Flybe said the addition of Dusseldorf to its existing network of routes from London Gatwick, which includes domestic services to Aberdeen and Newquay, makes it a "major player" at the airport.
Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: "The initial basing of one aircraft with 33 new staff will make Gatwick one of our most important airports and our 14th base.
"Flybe is gaining a reputation as an airline that bucks the trend in these challenging economic times and this announcement is a confident statement by the Flybe board in our ability to continue our growth."
The airline announced last week that it is expecting an 8% year-on-year increase in sales for travel over the Easter period this year.
