Guests at this event will also be able to join in with celebrations of Dumfries and Galloway as the birthplace of the pedal bicycle, which was invented by Kirkpatrick MacMillan.
Another highlight of Scotland"s programme of outdoor events is the O"Neill Cold Water Classic Series surfing competition, which will be held from 29 April to 7 May.
Set in the wilderness of the Scottish Highlands at Thurso East and Brims Ness, this contest sees skilled surfers negotiating challenging reef breaks off the Scottish coast.
Already underway in Scotland is Appetite for Ayrshire, a month-long celebration of food and drink that will continue until April 30th and serve up gourmet meals, cookery classes, wine tasting sessions and more.
