Swine Flu No Cause For Panic
Swine flu "no cause for panic" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has reassured travellers around the world with regards to the outbreak of swine flu, describing it as "a serious concern, but no cause for panic".
While the situation is continuing to develop in various regions around the world, the World Health Organisation is yet to advise travel restrictions or border closures, the WTTC pointed out.
However, people who are ill have been advised to consider delaying international travel and those who have developed flu-like symptoms after returning from abroad should seek medical attention.
Should the swine flu outbreak escalate, the travel industry"s readiness to deal with the situation is "much better than most people realise", the WTTC said.
Earlier this week, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advised against all but essential travel to Mexico, where cases of the new illness were first confirmed.
A number of airlines and tour operators have cancelled flights to Mexico, while the cruise line Royal Caribbean has temporarily suspended port calls in the country.
