Bmibaby passes 1m passenger milestone on Belfast route by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Bmibaby has carried the one millionth passenger on its service linking Belfast to East Midlands airport.
The carrier, which is a low-cost subsidiary of bmi, rewarded Jenny Harney and her daughter Grace from Armagh with two return flights from Belfast International airport to Prague.
Bmibaby offers 12 flights a week on its Belfast to East Midlands route, which it began operating in October 2002.
It will become the first airline to offer direct flights from Belfast to Prague when it launches the new service in the forthcoming winter season.
Crawford Rix, managing director of the airline, said: "We are proud to welcome our millionth passenger from Belfast International airport to East Midlands today. We launched flights from Belfast in October 2002 and seven years on, we continue to see a high demand for low-cost travel to and from the region.
"We recently announced the launch of our first international route from Belfast International airport to Prague for winter 2009-10, this service starts on 4 December 2009."
People travelling from Belfast International can also catch flights to New York with Continental Airlines, which recently installed a new entertainment system on the service.
