Cruise Passengers Taking Longer Journeys

Cruise passengers "taking longer journeys" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Cruise passengers are opting to spend more time at sea and are showing an increasing preference for UK ports, according to a new study released by the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA).
The Annual Cruise Review reveals that the average length of a cruise increased to 10.4 nights last year from 9.7 nights in 2007.
It was also found that 23% more UK cruise passengers chose to start their journey from a domestic port in 2008, meaning that four out of every ten cruises departed from the UK.
The PSA research indicates an 11% year-on-year increase in cruise passenger numbers to just under 1.5m last year, marking the third consecutive year of double-digit growth.
William Gibbons, director of the association, said: "These figures reflect the exceptional value offered by a cruise holiday.
"Its inclusive nature, with meals, accommodation, entertainment and of course multiple destinations, means it"s great value. The Annual Cruise Review also shows that last year, a third of all cruises cost less than £1,000 and prices will be even better value in 2009."
A number of cruise ships dedicated to the UK market will be launched over the coming years, including P&O Cruises" Azura and Cunard Line"s Queen Elizabeth.
