Prince Henrik of Denmark will exhibit a piece of art at this year"s Sculpture by the Sea exhibition, it has been announced.
Sculpture by the Sea will be held along a stretch of coastline 1km south of the city of Aarhus from 5 to 28 June, transforming the area into an open-air art gallery.
Prince Henrik, who along with the queen of Denmark is a keen artist, will be exhibiting his new two-metre-high bronze sculpture Torso at the event.
The work will be displayed alongside approximately 60 other sculptures made from various materials in all sorts of shapes and sizes, contributed by artists including the British sculptor Phillip King.
Jens Erik Sorensen, director of the ARoS gallery in Aarhus, said: "His Royal Highness has generously given the sculpture project in Denmark the opportunity to display his newly crafted bronze sculpture.
"On behalf of Sculpture by the Sea, the mayor of Aarhus, Nicolai Wammen, has welcomed the appearance and the participation of His Royal Highness at the site."
Sculpture by the Sea in Aarhus was inspired by the Australian event of the same name that has been held in Bondi, Sydney for the past 12 years.
