New Museum Opened In France
New museum opened in France by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers planning a trip to northern France this summer can head to a new museum that recently opened in the Normandy town of Giverny.
The Musee des Impressionismes Giverny was opened on the former site of the Museum of American Art on 1 May with an inaugural exhibition that will run until 15 August.
Visitors can see around 30 pieces by Claude Monet in the display, many of which have been borrowed from the Musee d"Orsay in Paris.
The new museum is dedicated exclusively to Impressionism, an art movement with which Normandy is strongly associated owing to artists such as Monet and famous sites such as Rouen Cathedral.
People visiting Normandy may also be interested in heading to the Musee des Beaux Arts in Rouen or the Musee Malraux in Le Havre to learn about the region"s artistic heritage.
Normandy"s location in northern France makes it an ideal day-trip destination for people visiting Paris, which can be reached by air with carriers such as British Airways and easyJet or by rail with Eurostar.
