Royal Caribbean and the Dubailand entertainment complex have announced an agreement that will see the two organisations operating joint marketing initiatives to boost the cruise industry and promote Dubai as a destination.
Dubailand is billed as "the world"s largest tourism, leisure and entertainment destination", with operational attractions including the Al Sahra Desert Resort and Dubai Sports City, with more to come over the next few years.
Passengers on Royal Caribbean cruises will soon be able to visit Dubailand as part of the company"s shore excursion programmes, while the complex itself will promote the cruise line"s Dubai itineraries through its global agency network.
Mohammed Al Habbai, senior vice-president of Dubailand, said: "As one of the premier global destinations, Dubailand is privileged to enter into this partnership with one of the globe"s leading cruise line operators."
Royal Caribbean"s senior international vice-president Michael Bayley added: "Dubailand shares our mission to innovate our respective industry segments and create the most memorable holiday experiences for our guests. We are delighted to partner with Dubailand to provide holidaymakers around the world with the best of land and sea when planning a trip to Dubai."
It was recently announced that Royal Caribbean will operate some limited cruises on the Pacific coast of North America this summer, with port calls in San Francisco, Seattle, Victoria and other destinations.
