Whale tours to begin on Australia"s Gold Coast by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers visiting Australia"s famous Gold Coast will soon have the opportunity to embark on whale-watching tours.
The season will run from June to November during the annual humpback whale migration, which sees thousands of the marine mammals travelling along the eastern coast of Australia.
Weather permitting, Sea World Whale Watch will operate daily tours throughout the season, which will depart at 11:00 and return at around 13:30 local time.
Trevor Long, Sea World director of marine sciences, said: "Whale-watching is a truly wonderful experience and it"s something that everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.
"The humpback whale population that migrates along our east coast is growing by between 8% and 13% annually and we are expecting to see about 12,000 whales pass the Gold Coast in 2009."
The Gold Coast is a highly popular part of Queensland that is famous for its surfing beaches and tourist attractions such as WhiteWater World.
