Qantas has revealed plans to launch extra Airbus A380 flights to Los Angeles and London.
The Australian airline is set to take delivery of three new aircraft before the end of 2009, enabling it to increase frequency to both Los Angeles and London from 6 August.
Qantas spokesman Rob Gurney confirmed that the Sydney to London services, which operate via Singapore, would be increased from three to five per week, while A380 flights to Los Angeles will increase in frequency from three to four per week.
He added: "The arrival of our fifth and sixth aircraft later in the year will mean further increases in services to these key destinations.
"By November, Qantas will operate daily A380 services to London and Los Angeles from Sydney and will increase Melbourne-Los Angeles services from two to three A380 flights per week."
Qantas first launched A380 flights in October 2008 and has now carried more than 200,000 passengers on the aircraft.
The airline recently introduced online check-in and seat selection facilities for its international passengers.
