UK tourism "will be strong, but overseas will hold up" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) has predicted that the UK tourism industry will perform well this year, but overseas destinations will continue to see demand from British travellers as well.
Ian Bradley, a spokesman for the association, said that fears over a drastic drop in demand for foreign holiday hotspots could prove to be unfounded.
British tourists will begin to appreciate the attributes of their own country, according to Mr Bradley, but the economic downturn will not stop a large portion of the travelling public from heading abroad.
"People do appreciate what is on their doorstep," Mr Bradley said. "It looks like we might have a nice summer and I"m sure that maybe influences people.
"It"s going to be a strong summer for the British domestic tourism market, but I still think it"s going to be OK for overseas as well, not nearly as bad as people are predicting."
The Nationwide building society released research this month indicating that consumer confidence in Britain increased in May.
