Singapore Airlines to launch A380 flights to Melbourne by Cheap Flights Booker UK
People planning holidays in Australia later this year will have the opportunity to travel in style when Singapore Airlines launches Airbus A380 flights to Melbourne.
The carrier announced that it would be extending its A380 network from Singapore - which already includes flights to Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, London and Hong Kong - with the launch of a Melbourne service on 29 September.
A380 flights will replace the existing Boeing 747 service from Singapore to Melbourne and will operate on a daily basis.
Huang Cheng Eng, Singapore Airlines" executive vice-president of marketing, said: "We are excited to fly the A380 to Melbourne, the second most populous city in Australia and a vibrant centre for commerce, arts, industry, sports and tourism.
"As the greenest wide-body aircraft in the sky, the 471-seat A380 will increase the seat capacity to Melbourne by 10%, without the need for additional frequencies."
Singapore Airlines flies to four other Australian cities - Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.
On 9 July, the carrier launched its inaugural A380 flight to Hong Kong, which transported some 450 passengers.
