Icelandair resumes Reykjavik flights from Glasgow by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Icelandair will relaunch flights to Reykjavik from Glasgow airport today (27 August), with two weekly services from Scotland to Iceland"s capital city.
Flights will depart on Thursdays and Sundays up to 25 September, at which time the schedule will change to four weekly connections operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The service will be based on a "triangle" route, with flights from Reykjavik stopping off at Manchester airport before returning to Glasgow.
As well as flying directly to Iceland, travellers will be able to connect to Icelandair"s flights to New York, Boston, Seattle and other North American destinations.
Hjorvar Saeberg Hognason, the airline"s UK general manager, said: "Passengers will enjoy the same warm Icelandic hospitality that they have come to expect, plus experience our new leather seats, interactive entertainment systems and three classes of cabin service."
Glasgow airport managing director Amanda McMillan added: "We are delighted to welcome Icelandair back to Glasgow airport, with a new schedule that not only offers convenient city breaks to Reykjavik, but also provides improved connections to the United States."
Emirates, bmi and US Airways are among the other carriers that serve the airport, operating flights to Dubai, Copenhagen, Philadelphia and other destinations.
