PSA Promotes National Cruise Week
PSA promotes National Cruise Week by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) has encouraged Brits to consider sailing away during National Cruise Week, which will run from 20 to 27 September.
Various events and promotions will be held during the week, including ship launches, special offers on cruises and the release of new trends in cruising.
According to PSA statistics, a record 1.5m Brits took a cruise last year and an increasing number of passengers are choosing to set sail from UK ports.
In 2010, P&O Cruises, Cunard Line and Celebrity Cruises will all launch new ships that will be dedicated to the UK market.
William Gibbons, director of the association, said: "Cruising boasts a world of opportunity and with a record number of Brits embracing cruising last year, we are pleased to report that in spite of the recession, the exceptional value of cruise holidays means they are still immensely popular.
"National Cruise Week celebrates that success and welcomes new-to-cruise passengers to get on board."
One in every 12 foreign package holidays booked in 2008 was a cruise, according to the PSA, compared to just one in 26 in 1999.
