Brits Optimistic About 2010 Holidays

Brits "optimistic about 2010 holidays" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Most British people are looking forward to their holiday plans for next year with optimism, according to a travel industry expert.
Kate Kenward, executive director of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), said that travel habits this year have highlighted the fact that most people will continue to take holidays despite difficult financial conditions.
"We have seen this year that holidays are not something that Britons want to cut back on and, coupled with the feeling that the worst of the recession is behind us, people are more optimistic about their holiday plans for 2010," she said.
Ms Kenward predicted that eurozone countries will be popular next year, as well as regions offering good value for money such as the Middle East and the US.
"The Middle East will … offer excellent value for high quality holidays, while the strengthening of the pound against the dollar could see the US make a comeback too," the AITO director commented.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that British people took 63.5m trips abroad in the 12-month period up to June 2009.
