Finnair Celebrates Oneworld Anniversary
Finnair celebrates oneworld anniversary by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Finnair has recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of its integration into the oneworld airline alliance.
The carrier joined the group in September 1999, the year the alliance was founded.
Initially, oneworld consisted of only five founder airlines, a number that has since increased to ten full members and almost 20 subsidiary carriers.
For Finnair, one of the biggest benefits of its membership is the option of easy connections in Asia to the networks of fellow oneworld carriers such as Qantas, Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
Every year, nearly 30% of passengers on the airline"s flights in south-east Asia connect to oneworld carrier services to other destinations in the region.
Outi Koponen, manager of Finnair"s oneworld relations, said: "Membership of the oneworld alliance in general has brought huge advantages to Finnair customers, because it means that Finnair is able to offer a nearly 700-destination route and service network as well as frequent-flyer benefits on all oneworld airline flights."
From its hub in Helsinki, Finnair operates flights to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok and other popular destinations in Asia.
