Visit Finland has announced that there will be four new ways for travellers to see the famous natural spectacle of the Northern Lights in 2010.
One new experience will be on offer at Igloo Village Kakslauttanen, a tourist village located 1,085km north of Helsinki and half an hour away from Ivalo airport.
Next year, the destination will launch the Sky Panorama Bus, a new service operated by the only bus in Finland with a panoramic skylight, which will begin offering journeys to see the Northern Lights from late August.
The Aurora Safari - a new activity combining the Northern Lights with a snowmobiling trip - will be based in the town of Kemi in northern Finland and will be available from 1 December next year to 24 January 2011.
Travellers will also have the opportunity to see the natural light show at RukaVillage, a new luxury hotel in the heart of the Ruka ski resort, which will have facilities including private saunas and outdoor hot tubs in some rooms.
Another new property opening in Finland next year is the Arctic SnowHotel near Lapland"s capital of Rovaniemi, a building formed of ice and snow where guests will be provided with fleece-lined sleeping bags and a hot tub to keep warm.
