InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of its second Holiday Inn property in Jordan on the banks of the Dead Sea.
The company said that people visiting the famous lake will benefit from the "reliability, friendly service and modern facilities for which the Holiday Inn brand is known globally".
Located a couple of minutes" walk away from the water"s edge, the Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea comprises 78 rooms and 128 chalets, along with facilities including restaurants, lounges, a sports centre and a swimming pool.
John Bamsey, IHG"s chief operating officer in the Middle East and Africa, said that it was a "natural decision" to expand the Holiday Inn presence to one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jordan.
He added: "Holiday Inn is one of the world"s most recognised hotel brands and it is an ideal fit for Jordan"s evolving tourism market.
"It helps to broaden the appeal of the Dead Sea as a destination by offering both the value of a mid-scale hotel and the reliability that goes with an internationally respected name."
The banks of the Dead Sea are located in Jordan to the east and Israel to the west. The lake gets its name from the fact that no wildlife can survive in its salty waters.
