Luxury Cruiser Launched In New Zealand
Luxury cruiser launched in New Zealand by Cheap Flights Booker UK
There is a new experience on offer to travellers visiting New Zealand following the launch of the cruise ship Ipipiri.
The 46-metre, five-storey catamaran was purpose-built in Australia and will specialise in overnight cruises in the Bay of Islands, which is close to the northern tip of New Zealand.
Prime minister John Key visited the Northland port of Opua last week, where he was joined by special guests and a crowd of locals and schoolchildren to officially launch the Ipipiri.
The ship will be operated by Fullers GreatSights Bay of Islands, a division of the InterCity group, and represents an investment of NZ$12m (£5m) in the Northland region.
Malcolm Johns, chief executive of InterCity, said: "Ipipiri is a beautiful ship and her arrival more than meets our expectations."
The vessel"s onboard facilities include 30 state rooms, a sundeck and a 70-seat restaurant and bar.
Travellers can see New Zealand"s Bay of Islands by catching flights to Auckland and travelling north.
