InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) officially opened the new Holiday Inn Male property in the capital city of the Maldives this week.
The establishment, which IHG claims is the destination"s first international-class hotel, welcomed its first guests on 14 September.
Visitors can make use of amenities including food and beverage outlets, recreation facilities and meeting rooms at the property, which boasts an impressive view of the harbour.
The hotel also offers the opportunity to take a five-minute ride to the airport on the first-ever Holiday Inn-branded speedboat.
Brett Wilson, the new establishment"s general manager, said: "As the newest hotel and the first international-class property in Male, I am confident that Holiday Inn Male will do extremely well.

Guests are accommodated in a total of 117 rooms at the hotel, each of which features broadband internet access, an LCD television, a safe and other provisions.
