Winter Travellers Should Head East For Value
Winter travellers "should head east for value" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British travellers planning winter breaks should head to the Far East if they want to stretch their budget as far as possible, according to a report on long-haul holidays released by the Post Office.
The organisation said that Thailand offers the best value with regards to holiday spending costs, followed by Bali and Malaysia.
Mexico and Jamaica are also among the leading contenders for the best value winter destinations following a recovery in the value of sterling.
The pound has regained much of its value against the dollar over the past six months, meaning trips to the US - and Florida, New York and Las Vegas in particular - are reportedly proving popular among Brits this winter.
Sarah Munro, head of travel services at the Post Office, said: "When it comes to both cost and value for money, Thailand, Bali and Malaysia are the top three hotspots this winter. Not only are they the cheapest in our Holiday Costs Barometer survey of living costs but great deals on package holidays are on offer too.
"The USA is an incredibly resilient holiday destination – whatever the exchange rate. Sterling"s recent recovery together with price-cutting by holiday operators and US retailers means that a trip stateside will still be good value - especially for shopping."
