Northern Ireland Tourism Campaign Launched
Northern Ireland tourism campaign launched by Cheap Flights Booker UK
A marketing initiative has been launched to promote Northern Ireland as a tourism destination.
Tourism minister Arlene Foster announced the £1.2m campaign, which will start over the coming weeks and continue into the early months of 2010.
The launch of the initiative follows Tourism Ireland"s autumn marketing drive, which began in Britain in late August.
Introducing the new project, Ms Foster said: "It will focus on making Northern Ireland stand out from its competitors by highlighting the wide range of culture, festivals and local food on offer, along with the genuine warmth and welcome of the people here.
"The campaign will also bring value for money to the forefront, maximising the benefits of the current exchange rate."
A number of industry partners will be involved in the new promotions, including the Belfast Visitor Convention Bureau and Aer Lingus.
Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, said that 2009 has been a challenging year for tourism but stressed that there are positive signs of a recovery in 2010.
