Queen Enjoys A Night At The Theatre In London
Queen enjoys a night at the theatre in London by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Audiences watching the London theatre show War Horse this week were joined by some illustrious guests as the Queen and Prince Philip stopped by to watch a performance.
The pair visited the New London Theatre unannounced and sat amongst the public to enjoy the play.
A royal aide told the Evening Standard that the monarch and her husband enjoy visiting the theatre, often travelling discreetly to avoid being spotted.
"The Queen has regularly undertaken similar private visits throughout her reign without any fuss. It allows her to live a bit more of a normal life," the source added.
"Most of her staff are not told in advance if she is planning an evening out. She is keen on the theatre."
War Horse is an adaptation of a children"s book by Michael Morpurgo set during World War I.
It follows a young man who enlists in the Army to find his old horse Joey, who was sold to the cavalry and shipped to France during World War I.
The production will be based at the New London Theatre until February next year.
