Skiers Look For Off Piste Resorts
Skiers look for "off piste" resorts by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Skiers looking for cheaper holidays need to seek out locations which are "off the beaten track", a snow sports club has advised.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, the price of holidays for Brits has increased due to the fall in the value of the pound against the euro.
Tour operators which have suffered as a result have had to increase their prices to stay afloat, the organisation explained.
Vanessa Fisher, spokesperson for the Ski Club of Great Britain, said: "Resorts that are slightly off the beaten track are going to be popular as they are slightly cheaper.
"We"re finding that resorts which are further down the valley like Sainte-Foy [in the French Alps] for example which is down the valley from Val d"Isere [are popular]."
These locations are more obscure but provide access to skiing and offer the sort of conditions that many skiers look for, she added.
Figures from the club revealed that France has a 43 per cent share of the British snow sports market.
