Travel Writer Recommends Festivals Abroad
Travel writer recommends festivals abroad by Cheap Flights Booker UK
A travel writer has advised holidaymakers to escape the cold weather and head overseas for a festival this winter.
James Bainbridge, author of the Lonely Planet guide A Year of Festivals, said that wintry conditions in the UK don"t mean that "the rest of the world shuts down".
He added that there are several festival options to choose from in the coming months, with many events taking place across the globe.
These include a west African music festival just outside of Timbuktu, a Creole festival in the Seychelles and an electronic music event in Helsinki.
"This time of year with the dark winter months coming in, it is a great time for big colourful gatherings that bring people together," said Mr Bainbridge.
"Just because we are going into the cold winter months in Britain it doesn"t mean that the rest of the world shuts down – there are lots of things taking place in other hemispheres."
Earlier this year, organisers of the Lovebox Weekender carried out a survey and discovered that the average festival-goer spends up to £600 on a weekend.
