Berlin to see increase in business travellers by Cheap Flights Booker UK

European cities such as Berlin will see an increase in the number of business visitors next year, a corporate firm has said.

According to Egencia, the German capital is one of the main economic hubs and will see stronger demand from corporate travellers next year.

The impact of the recession has led to many organisations exerting greater control over their travel schemes and ensuring staff travel on more competitive pricing plans.

Christophe Peymirat, UK vice-president and managing director for Egencia, said: "The main achievement was working on the advance booking of airline tickets for example, which is an important measure to reduce your spend when looking at your travel policy.

"Some companies have tried to reduce [their business travel] but, more often, companies are trying to buy smarter."

Previous figures from Egencia showed that the price for an average ticket and room in the most high profile business travel destinations in Europe is expected to rise slowly in 2010.
