Continental, bmi reach codeshare deal by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Continental Airlines and bmi have reached a codeshare agreement that will see passengers with both carriers offered access to a wider range of destinations.

The deal was reached as Continental became the 25th member of the Star Alliance, joining a group that also includes Air Canada, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and other carriers.

Bmi will now be able to offer fares to Newark Liberty airport in New York and George Bush Intercontinental in Houston from London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Brussels.

Continental also has the option to sell tickets on bmi services connecting via these destinations, as well as Belfast and Amman.

Katherine Gershon, sales and marketing director at bmi, said: "Our new codeshare agreement with Continental will mean our customers have the opportunity to travel on new services between our key departure points and the United States.

"Starting with Newark and Houston, we hope to extend our collaboration with Continental to other destinations in the Americas."

The British carrier also reached a codeshare agreement with Aegean Airlines recently, allowing it to offer more flights to Greece.
