Queensland looks forward to "event-filled year" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Tourism Queensland has revealed that the state in north-east Australia is looking forward to an "event-filled year" in 2010.
Various festivals, sports meetings, shows and other occasions are scheduled, including the Asia Pacific Triennial at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, which will begin on 5 December and run until 5 April next year.
Queensland"s capital city will also host a major sporting event next year, with the Brisbane International tennis meeting set to take place from 3 to 10 January.
Another popular tourist destination in the region is the Gold Coast, which will provide the setting for the final of the National Rodeos competition between 7 and 10 January.
Travellers planning to visit Queensland later in the year might get the chance to see the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships at Kurrawa Beach.
Set to take place between 16 and 21 March, the event attracts around 7,000 Australian competitors who take part in various challenges.
