Spain To Suffer Less Than Other Eurozone Countries
Spain "to suffer less than other eurozone countries" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Spain"s established popularity as a holiday destination for British travellers means that it will not see the steep decline in visitor numbers experienced by other eurozone countries, according to an industry spokesman.
Paco Gutierrez, a promotions executive from the Spanish Tourist Office, said the fall in value of the pound against the single European currency has made eurozone destinations less attractive to Brits.
While many people will be looking outside Europe for their holidays, Mr Gutierrez pointed out that there is a sense of loyalty and familiarity that ensures Spain will always be popular.
"The thing about Spain is that most people know and love it because they have been there before and [as a result it will] suffer less than other eurozone countries," he said.
"It is less of a gamble for Brits to travel to Spain."
Commenting on the most popular parts of the country, Mr Gutierrez said big cities such as Barcelona and Madrid will continue to attract visitors, as well as beach holiday hotspots like Malaga.
