United announces new routes by Cheap Flights Booker UK

United Airlines has announced plans to expand its global network of services.

The American carrier is to launch its first-ever flight to Africa and will also extend services to Bahrain and Belgium.

African flights will operate between Washington, Accra in Ghana and Lagos in Nigeria, while Bahrain services will be added to the existing Washington-Kuwait flight.

Kevin Knight, senior vice-president of planning at United Airlines, said: "Our first-ever non-stop service to Africa will offer customers convenient and comfortable travel opportunities to visit two of the fastest-growing cities in the continent.

"In addition, our new services to Bahrain and Brussels will open more international routes to our customers throughout Europe and the Middle East."

The new flights are to begin operating in 2010 and are subject to government approval.

United currently offers some 3,300 flights a day to more than 200 destinations in the US and the rest of the world.
