Air New Zealand To Leave Competitors Behind This Year
Air New Zealand "to leave competitors behind this year" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Air New Zealand has claimed that it will launch new developments and product improvements this year to distinguish itself from competitors.
Rob Fyfe, the airline"s chief executive officer, said innovation will be a "key theme" for the coming year.
One of the highlights for passengers will be the introduction of lie-flat seats in economy class on the carrier"s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which it claims will "transform international air travel".
Air New Zealand will also continue to focus on its services in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific.
"The next 12 months will be one of the most defining in Air New Zealand"s history," Mr Fyfe said.
"Our competitors will be scrambling to catch up as we introduce a world-first long-haul experience, continue to evolve our trans-Tasman and Pacific Island operation and introduce more capacity into our domestic jet operation with the arrival of new A320 aircraft."
The chief executive made the comments after the airline announced normalised earnings before tax of $96m (£43.8m) in the six months ending December 31st last year, up $70 million from the same period in 2008.
