Britons Becoming More Confident To Travel
Britons "becoming more confident to travel" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The past six months have brought an increase in confidence among British consumers with regards to travelling, according to research.
Wanderlust magazine and the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) carried out a poll which found that 83% of people are planning to take at least the same number of trips during the year ahead as in the last 12 months.
A substantial majority (81%) of respondents also said they are planning to spend the same or more on their holidays in the coming year.
The research found that, while consumers still consider the holiday destination to be the most significant factor in the decision-making process, customer service is now seen as more important than price.
AITO chairman Derek Moore said: "We know that people are less willing to forgo holidays these days and it"s encouraging to see just how positive plans for travel in 2010 are already.
"This is reflected in tour operator bookings, which show that the desire to take holidays in 2010 is more than just an intention."
