Eurostar halts Brussels trains by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Eurostar has announced a temporary suspension of services between London and Brussels following reports of a train crash in the Belgian capital.
The train operator said that the accident, which took place outside Brussels Midi station this morning, has affected its own services in the region.
Both the trains involved in the crash, which took place at 8:30 local time (7:30 GMT), were domestic passenger services.
It is believed there have been fatalities but no official death toll has been confirmed yet.
Eurostar said that it is unable to operate Brussels services until further notice and has reduced its capacity on its Lille route. Services to Paris have not been affected.
"Because of the seriousness of the accident and the expected impact on both domestic and international rail services, passengers between the UK and Brussels are strongly advised to postpone or cancel their journeys," the train operator said.
Passengers will be able to exchange their tickets or may receive a refund.
