Families Still Enjoy Newquay
Families "still enjoy Newquay" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Britons still enjoy spending family holidays in the Cornish town of Newquay, a tourism chief has said.
Teresa Timms, PR manager at VisitCornwall, explained that the destination"s "strong appeal" to families has its roots in the past.
A traditional resort for the entire family in years gone by, Newquay is now primarily seen as a hotspot for water sports and partying.
However, Ms Timms said that there are many other aspects of the town that add to its attractiveness for families.
"Because of its location Newquay is ideally placed to explore both the east and the west of the county," she noted.
"It also has great public transport links including the Newquay-Par branch line which links with the mail railway line linking most of Cornwall with Newquay."
Recently-published figures from Tourism Newquay indicate that the town is set to welcome an increasing number of visitors from Europe in 2010.
