Flybe carries 500,000th Cardiff passenger by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Flybe has now carried over 500,000 passengers from Cardiff airport in 22 months.

The milestone was passed by Bridgend resident John Marsden, who was boarding an afternoon flight to Edinburgh from the Welsh capital.

Mr Marsden was presented with a bottle of champagne and a certificate to mark the occasion.

Over a third of all scheduled departures from Cardiff are currently operated by Flybe, making it the largest carrier at the airport.

Travellers can choose from up to 106 weekly services provided by the regional airline from Wales, including flights to Paris, Aberdeen, Belfast City, Newcastle and Jersey.

Mike Rutter, Flybe"s chief commercial officer, said: "We were delighted to celebrate Mr Marsden being our 500,000th passenger from Cardiff less than two years after starting services from the airport where, despite the wider economic challenges thrown at everyone last year, we were the only scheduled airline to show growth.
