In Flight Entertainment Upgrade On Qantas Aircraft
In-flight entertainment upgrade on Qantas aircraft by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Qantas has unveiled plans to upgrade the entertainment systems on some of its planes.
The Australian carrier is to invest AUS$400m (£298m) to improve in-flight services on nine Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
A portion of this investment will also go towards "reconfiguring" the airline"s Airbus A380 fleet.
In a statement, Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said: "The major upgrade will give all our long-haul customers access to our award-winning seats and in-flight entertainment Qantas offers on its flagship aircraft, the A380."
He added: "These changes will ensure we remain competitive in terms of aircraft configuration, product and service and that we are better able to ensure capacity is more closely aligned with demand."
Earlier this week, Qantas announced that the company had made a pre-tax profit of AUS$90m in the final six months of 2009.
The carrier enjoyed revenues of AUS$6.9bn in this period and a cash balance of AUS$3.5bn.
