More Brits visiting Iceland by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The number of British tourists to Iceland increased by more than 11% last month when compared with the same period in 2009, new data has shown.
Figures from the Icelandic Tourist Board revealed that 4,312 Britons visited the northern country in January 2010.
In January last year, this number stood at 3,865.
British travellers continue to be the biggest market for tourism to Iceland and the country"s official tourist board believes this trend is likely to continue.
Sigga Groa Porarinsdottir, marketing manager for the UK and Ireland division of the Icelandic Tourist Board, said: "Iceland still has an advantageous exchange rate compared with the euro, which means there has never been a better time for people to visit Iceland with UK travellers" spending money going a lot further."
"These figures are very encouraging and there is further cause for optimism as visitors will soon have a greater range of travel options," she added.
