Flybe to offer extra capacity during BA strike by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Regional airline Flybe has confirmed that it will increase capacity on some of its routes this month during a planned strike by cabin crew staff at British Airways (BA).
The carrier said that it will be adding seats on flights out of London Gatwick, Southampton, Jersey, Aberdeen and Dusseldorf.
Passengers affected by the industrial action at BA will therefore be offered a "reliable and great value alternative", Flybe claimed.
Specific routes that will have higher capacity include the airline"s links from London Gatwick to Aberdeen, Jersey and Dusseldorf.
There will also be more seats available on services from Southampton to a number of destinations, which is expected to help BA passengers who would otherwise have travelled from Heathrow or Gatwick.
BA is locked in a dispute with the Unite union over potential changes to its crew members" working practices.
The Guardian reported that more than 500,000 passengers will be affected if the planned three-day strike from 20 March and four-day walkout from 27 March go ahead.
