Bmi offering extra seats to help BA passengers by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Bmi will add 4,500 seats to its regular schedule from London Heathrow this weekend to provide support to travellers affected by industrial action at British Airways (BA).
Cabin crew staff at BA have voted to stage a four-day walkout starting at midnight on Friday 26 March.
Bmi, which is the second largest airline at Heathrow, confirmed that it will be operating extra services and upgrading aircraft to provide additional seating capacity.
Flights to Amsterdam, Cairo, Edinburgh, Moscow and several other destinations have been adjusted to carry more passengers this weekend.
There will also be extra space on bmi"s new routes from London to Berlin and Vienna, which are set to launch on 28 March.
Members of the BA Silver and Gold Executive schemes will be offered access to bmi facilities including its flagship Great British Lounge at Heathrow.
BA expects to offer full schedules from London City and Gatwick airports during the industrial action, while Heathrow timetables will be cut to 55% of capacity for short-haul flights and 70% for long-haul services.
