Good Value Still Available In Eurozone, Expert Advises
Good value still available in eurozone, expert advises by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The recent decline in value of sterling against the single European currency does not necessarily mean all eurozone destinations are expensive, according to an expert.
Mark Bodega, director of foreign exchange firm HiFX, said there is "no denying that the pound has been severely hammered by the euro".
However, he also stressed that "non-euro doesn"t necessarily mean expensive" and informed travellers that "good value destinations still exist within the eurozone".
Commenting on particular destinations, Mr Bodega pointed out that website PintPrice.com currently lists the cost of a pint of beer in Slovakia as 70p on average, compared to £1.80 in Turkey, a non-euro destination.
He added: "Travellers should not forget that the non-euro Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Sweden are amongst the most expensive countries in the world according to The Economist"s Big Mac Index."
People who are hoping to stick to a budget during their break were encouraged to compare prices of food, drink, accommodation and other holiday items, rather than base their decision on whether a country is part of the eurozone.
