Bmi subsidiary named most punctual from UK airports by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Bmi Regional has celebrated the release of recent figures from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) showing that it was the most punctual carrier from UK airports in 2009.

This represents the fifth successive year that the airline achieved the best on-time rate in the CAA survey.

Over 1.2m scheduled flights were surveyed by the regulator, around 18,000 of which were operated by bmi Regional.

Some 93% of the airline"s services departed on time and typical delays were recorded at 4.77 minutes - compared to averages of 80% punctuality and delays of 12.2 minutes for scheduled carriers.

The operator"s managing director, Stewart Adams, said: "Bmi Regional understands that time is money and we strive to provide the best possible service for our customers, whether they"re travelling for business or leisure.

"We are delighted to have been confirmed as the UK"s most punctual airline for 2009, the fifth year in succession."

The bmi subsidiary offers flights to Zurich, Brussels, Copenhagen and other destinations from UK bases including Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
