Families booking term-time holidays to secure value deals by Cheap Flights Booker UK

More families are being encouraged to book holidays during term-time in order to secure better value deals.

This is according to a new Tesco Bank survey, which revealed that 44% of parents in Britain take a family break during the school term rather than in peak season.

A further 63% are choosing to do so in order to secure less expensive holiday deals.

John McDonald, director of the Family Holiday Association, said it is "very understandable" that parents seek out the best value deals available.

"Many children can be given authorised absence from school for a week and many headteachers understand the benefits that that can bring for the child, the family and the school in general," he explained.

Mr McDonald went on to say that approximately one in three families in the UK currently struggle to afford an overseas break.

Over a fifth of parents (22%) responding to the Tesco Bank survey said they were not concerned that having time away from school will markedly impact on their education.
